Korgaonkar, Shyamrao Vishnu Bodhe, and the local people, Rajabai Tayyabali, the landlord agreed to offer them a plot for the construction of a permanent market. 

It was as a result of this vow that the Mandal came into existence. The fishermen and traders believe that Lord Ganesha has fulfilled their wish and placed the idol on 12th September 1934. Initially, the devotees dressed the model in the traditional costume of the fishermen. Since then, the idol has gained popularity, and people believe that he fulfills his devotee’s wishes.
